Aside from your basic phone, computer, Internet connection, and of course your desk, when considering how to set up your home office there is much much more to take into consideration.The idea of a business to start from home, or a job for mom at home, mean mom has to plan her time very carefully and divide it between quality time with her children, home duties, and work. The goal as I mentioned in my other posts is to get the most out of both worlds. Spending time with your family and reaching financial freedom. So, when setting up your home office you must take all of your busy mommy schedule into account.
Since you are a Mommy, you can not just close yourself in a office, and focus solely on work full time. You need to be in a place where you can keep your eye on the little ones while also being able to accomplish your work. You need to plan your house and office so it it easily accessible and in the midst of everything else. If you have to move away from your desk to make a bottle, or be close to the kitchen because you might be cooking food for lunch, then you need to be close enough and accessible to everything. This will be your mobile office, later we will set up your other office.
If moms want to make an income in the comforts of their home, and be able to enjoy quality time with their children. Here is what you need:
1, A Wireless ready notebook.
2.High speed Internet connection .
3.Cordless Phone w/ wireless headset.
4. Answering machine/ voice mail.
5. Proper tools & software that will cut working time into at least half, or save you thousands of hours of time and effort.
Your business to start from home will be almost complete with all these things except you still will be lacking one more basic necessity for a successfull mommy home based business. You will still need a designated workspace to use when you have alone time. Alone time happens once the kids are sleeping, or the baby is taking his or her morning nap, or someone else is around to babysit a while. There is always some work that requires your 100% attention. For this purpose find an area in the house that is quiet and private. An extra room in the house is ideal, but any place private will do. If you have to use some sort of division to cut it off from the rest of the house so it will be more private than do so.When you have found this special place for your new "business to start from home", you can now convert it to a proper work area.The goal is to make you feel like you are not in your house but rather in a business environment. Give this area or room a look and feel that is different than the rest of the house. At the same time it is vital that the office is a relaxing and attractive place to work. A place where you will look forward to accomplishing those difficult tasks that really need to focus, and devote your attention to. Paint your new office in shade of light green for a calming yet clean feeling.
Your new business to start from home needs a desk, bookshelf, and a filing cabinet. Always keep your designated office clean and orderly, even if the rest of the house is messy. If your office is disorganized you will be waisting precious time constantly trying to find things or put things in order.
By taking 10 minutes a day to tidy up your office, it should stay tidy.
